Two Heritage Luxury homes, stately lakefront properties 319 Sheridan Rd and 1035 Sheridan Rd, were highlighted in Chicago’s Tribune article featuring 25 most expensive Chicago-area home sales of all time.
“Despite uninspired Chicago-area home-sales data, the wealthiest Chicagoans are still buying, selling and building.
Chicagoland single-family home values have been decelerating, according to the most recently reported S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index, and home-price growth trails nationwide averages.
But the ultra high-end housing market continues to march forward. Led by condominium units in newly built Gold Coast towers that have changed hands for stratospheric, previously unseen sale prices, the $10 million-and-up price tag continues to see plenty of deals. In fact, of the 25 highest-priced home sales in Chicago-area history, fully eight of them have taken place in the past three years.
Although no one factor seems to be driving this upward push, it’s clear that the wealthiest of Chicagoans generally favor new construction, customization and privacy.”
